Southern Summer Rainstorm
Imagine you're laying in bed on a hot summer's night, with your window open to let in a breeze. Your parents are in the other room with your siblings, talking and quietly laughing to themselves, when a surprise summer shower comes out of nowhere. The wind is blowing and making the trees dance; the crickets praising the rain; cars driving past with their headlights flashing past. It sounds as if the others have decided to sit out on the front porch in the rocking chairs to enjoy the momentary relief that the cool wind and soft rain gives from the southern humidity. And so with the southern summer shower as a gentle lullaby in your ear, the smell of fresh earth and clean air in your nose a relaxing perfume, you slowly drift off to sleep.
