it's still light out, but not for long. you walk the length of the road behind your house, alongside the rows of wavering corn, tree lines beyond that, to the ominous graveyard at the crossroads. someone has been digging recently. it does not concern you. a thunderstorm approaches, the day-birds are silent, the fields watch you with interest. you make your way home, guided by the echoes of church bells and the distant ring of the neighbors windchimes.
